Inner Princess

Every woman is a princess, like those we see in fairy tale movies, either little girls or grown up women, Asian, Latin or Western, housewives, students, artists, scientists, employees or unemployed, among a lot of different jobs, professions, races, sizes, ages, religions, etc.; I personally believe sometimes society and ourselves too forget that we are beautiful women, all and each of us, and somehow many of the stereotypes of what is said to be real beauty such as height, a perfect face, a small size, make us forget that each woman’s beauty is not only physical, there’s always more to beauty than meets the eye, as I see it, beauty is found in the pride for a well done job, as educating children, studying or creating.
Media constantly shows us images of divine women who remind us of a submissive princess who awaits her charming prince to come rescue her, but, what about all the other women? Those who teach us, help us, provide us, our friends, sisters, mothers, those who have suffered injustice, abuse or mistreatment, what about them? We should not forget they are there.

This is why I want to create a small series of photos inspired in all those women, I want to transform them into fairy tale princesses like Cinderella, Aurora, Bella, etc., but surrounded by their every day working environment or in the middle of their daily chores, using as models some of my close friends and some women I know and whom I respect and from whom I have learned a lot. I also want to make each model’s costume, as well as all the hair and makeup, so they may be shown as the princesses they are in their world and in ours.

My intention is, by creating a graphic recognition, to honor these women we can find everywhere doing all kinds of duties and by doing so, I hope to help people be more conscious about respect and love for women.
